Fostering Strength and Sustainability in Social Justice
Using a healing justice lens, we center the work of black-led grassroots organizations to increase their impact in their communities. We build organizational capacity that heals individual and collective trauma and allows us to better organize, advocate, and achieve justice and liberation for ourselves and each other.
The systematic fair treatment of people of all races, resulting in equitable opportunities and outcomes for all. Racial justice—or racial equity—goes beyond “anti-racism.” It is not just the absence of discrimination and inequities, but also the presence of deliberate systems and supports to achieve and sustain racial equity through proactive and preventative measures.
A framework created by Cara Page, Healing Justice is a framework that identifies how we can holistically respond to and intervene on intergenerational trauma and violence, and to bring collective practices that can impact and transform the consequences of oppression on our collective bodies, hearts, and minds.
A process developed by Dr. Gail Christopher, Racial healing is a process for rebuilding from the lie that there is a hierarchy of human value based on skin color. To heal is to restore to wholeness; to repair damage, and to set right. Healing a societal racial divide requires recognition of the need to acknowledge the wrongs of the past while addressing the consequences of those wrongs.
